Until 2019, I used to blog regularly, almost daily. Also about WordPress, and everything related to running a website with WordPress. What happened? I accepted a full-time job.
Lately, I get the itch to start blogging again. So, I started reviving wilwebs.com. Early October 2025, I have published a little post about disabling the default WordPress block patterns.
WordPress has changed tremendously. The Block Editor, that started as the Gutenberg plug-in next to the Classis Editor, has been transformed into a Full Site Editor (FSE).
Since I haven’t worked much with WordPress the past six years, it’s probably best to relearn WordPress a bit. WP Blocks serves that. purpose.
Writing about the WordPress Core blocks is an excellent way to get a better understanding of these blocks and relearn WordPress along the way. And may be you can benefit from it too.
Take care,
Wil
